This month, we’re proud to celebrate The King's Awards for Enterprise – the most prestigious recognition for UK businesses since 1965, where we’ll explore what the awards mean for Nottingham businesses, how they can boost your organisation and how you can get involved.
The event will feature a panel of esteemed past winners and this is your opportunity to hear firsthand experiences and insights, and to ask your questions directly to those who have achieved this remarkable honour.

This month, we’re proud to celebrate The King's Awards for Enterprise – the most prestigious recognition for UK businesses since 1965. These awards honour outstanding achievements in innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility.
The event will feature a panel of esteemed past winners:
Pino De Rosa IEng FICE FPWI of Bridgway Consulting Limited
MD and founder of Bridgeway Consulting, a £50m turnover Civil Engineering Consultancy that celebrates its 30 Year Anniversary this year! Started his career in British Rail as a trainee bricklayer, progressing through the technical levels before forming Bridgeway in 1995. Beginning with underwater inspections through innovative engineering solutions Bridgeway established itself as a top-tier UK Rail consultancy, receiving the Queen's Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development in 2017. Founding Board member of the Rail Industry Contractors Association (RICA), member of other industry groups, active supporter of local charities and promoter of social mobility including Enterprise Fellow of the Kings Trust.
Nadeem Raza of Microlise
Nadeem Raza is the Chief Executive Officer of Microlise Group Plc, a transport management software provider, where he has been since 1987. In 2008, he led a management buyout of the company and assumed his current role . Under his leadership, Microlise went public on the London Stock Exchange in 2021. He is also a Deputy Lieutenant for Nottinghamshire and was recognized in the FT Top 100 BAME leaders in 2018. He holds a background in mathematics and computing from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Richard Taylor of G. H. Hurt & Son
Founded in 1912, G.H.Hurt & Son is a specialist knitwear manufacturer, designing and manufacturing knitted lace knitwear. Richard Taylor - Head of Marketing - was given a simple mandate : To develop the business in both the digital domain and international markets. Via digital marketing, we saw visitors to our web-shop from 183 nations and sent orders to 100+ different countries. During the same period, we were also busy building great business relationships amongst new retail stockists and distribution partners around the world. The reward was the Queen’s Award for Enterprise - in International Trade - recognition for our outstanding growth in overseas sales over several consecutive years. We export 2/3rd of our products into international markets.
The Timetable
What to expect...
Arrival at 11:45, sign in and collect your badge before being escorted into the reception area.
Enjoy a bit of opening networking with the other members and guests of the lunch. Drink included.
Sit down for a two course lunch including a starter and a main followed by coffee. After lunch the guest speaker will take to the podium for their speech.
The meeting and lunch is drawn to a close.
Guests and members are invited to continue their discussions at Saltbox.
Parking is available at NCP Nottingham Stoney Street.
