A summer evening to remember — NCBC's Charity Summer Social
With no lunch in the diary for August, Nottingham City Business Club took to the water instead and Friday 7th August turned out to be the perfect evening for it. Members gathered at the River Lodge in Colwick before boarding the Nottingham Princess, the largest cruiser on the Trent, for a relaxed evening of BBQ, disco, drinks and easy conversation as we cruised gently along the river.

It's the more informal setting that makes the Summer Social such a favourite. Away from the usual lunch format, there was plenty of time for members to mix and catch up. From Nat and Angela Parmar of Fairstone Financial Management and Victoria Green of Spenbeck, to the team from The Merry Men, David Metcalf of KPD Sounds, Victoria Branch of VB Marketing and Steve Edwards capturing it all on camera. Benjamin Sansom of Frank Key Group, Alex Sansom of Clear Momentum and Deborah Bond of Deborah Bond Business Solutions even took a turn as the evening's official "lifesavers", much to everyone's amusement.
As ever, though, the night was about more than good company. With £5 from every ticket going to our Charity of the Year, Forever Stars, the Summer Social raised a welcome sum for a charity doing such important work and our thanks go to everyone who came along and gave so generously.
A big thank you to the crew of the Nottingham Princess for having us, and to all our members for making it the warm, sociable evening the Summer Social always is. Here's to the next one.

Princess River Cruises
Based at the stunning River Lodge, conveniently situated two miles from Nottingham City Centre, we operate the largest River Cruiser on the River Trent, the Nottingham Princess licensed to carry up to 140 guests. We offer daytime and evening cruise packages and the Nottingham Princess is also available for private hire.
