Jon Rawcliffe is a Chartered Surveyor, with twenty years commercial real estate experience with a varied career across agency, acquisition, development and investment.

Following an eight year tenure working with a Local Enterprise Partnership Jon joined the recently established East Midlands Freeport team in August 2023. His primary function involves securing inward investment to the three large ‘tax’ sites within the Freeport. These strategic developments comprise over 1,300 acres of land and it is anticipated that all the new accommodation planned to be constructed will be for commercial and employment uses.

Jon’s talk will focus on driving Investment, Innovation and Green Growth across our region.

East Midlands Freeport is the UK’s only inland Freeport, driving economic regeneration across the East Midlands providing a unique and world leading combination of partners focussed on creating thousands of jobs, boosting skills and accelerating the commitment of decarbonisation and Net Zero through low carbon energy investments.

The Freeport closely aligns with the Government’s objectives around Economic Growth and Net Zero.

Jon’s role involves working closely with the Ministry for Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG), Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the Midlands Engine, the new Notts/Derby Combined Authority, the Connected Places Catapult and other stakeholders.
