Supported by the Haydn Green Foundation, the Haydn Green Institute (HGI), based at The Ingenuity Lab, is at the forefront of creating a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Nottingham. Simon delivered a fascinating talk on how to overcome barriers to innovation to address sustainability and digital transformation.
Simon and his team help organisations to solve innovation challenges within their businesses by thinking differently. Their work is all about “unlocking ingenuity” and is built on many years of research and practice. During his talk, Simon discussed the barriers to innovation, including time pressures, lack of capability and lack of recognition, and suggested how we can all overcome them. Simon Mosey
Simon Mosey is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation having previously worked in leadership and research roles at Akzo Nobel and Courtaulds. His talk is titled ‘Overcoming barriers to innovation to address sustainability and digital transformation.’
Simon is Visiting Professor at Ghent University and editor of the Journal of Technology Transfer, and his research addresses technology entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. He is co-author of the popular books, Ingenuity and Building an Entrepreneurial Organisation and has published his research within leading academic journals and periodicals such as the Washington Post and the Financial Times. He is chair of YES and Ingenuity that have developed the entrepreneurial skills of over 9000 student, academic and community entrepreneurs. Simon has led research projects, executive education and community events within the areas of impact led entrepreneurship and social, organisational and environmental innovation.
Innovation is now a business imperative. For some businesses, innovation is the raison d’etre resulting in competitive advantage through new streams of revenue and profits. However, most organisations struggle with how innovation can be motivated internally and how to address challenges such as sustainability and digital transformation. This talk will look at the different approaches deployed by entrepreneurial and innovative organisations and will provide practical examples of the innovation approaches that your organisation can utilise.

What to expect...
Arrival at 11:45, sign in and collect your badge before being escorted into the reception area.
Enjoy a bit of opening networking with the other members and guests of the lunch. Drink included.
Sit down for a two course lunch including a starter and a main followed by coffee. After lunch the guest speaker will take to the podium for their speech.
The meeting and lunch is drawn to a close.
Parking is available at NCP Nottingham Stoney Street.
