Corporate Responsibility Inside Out

csr-january-2024

Denis Tully - Emmanuel House

Denis originates from Dublin and came to the UK in 1978 to join an Anglican Society called the Church Army. He spent 22 years in youth work before taking on a role with the Parent Partnership service supporting parents of children with additional needs in and around education. He moved on to work in Sure Start Children’s Centres with his final role as a manager for Community development in the service before going to Emmanuel House to head up their volunteering. After a short time in that role, he became CEO of the charity which in eight years has grown in the amount of work it does and in its reputation for the quality of work it does.

Sam Crawford - Notts County Foundation

Sam is passionate about social justice and empowering disenfranchised communities and has dedicated his career to supporting disadvantaged people both in the UK and in Africa.

Motivated by the opportunity to find innovative ways of empowering those who have been disenfranchised in society and assisting them to play an active part in their communities Sam’s heart and soul is very much within the voluntary sector.

With over a decade’s experience working in a variety of roles within the sector and most recently co-leading Notts County Foundation alongside colleague and Chief Operating Officer, Emma Trent. Prior to this Sam was Chief Executive of The Friary where he spent 13 happy years within the homelessness sector, a cause which he still feel very strongly about.

Ben Talbot - The Friary

Ben spent his formative years in West Bridgford and attended West Bridgford School.
After spending over 15 years in Financial Services as a Commercial Relationship Manager, he transferred his relationship building skills and financial acumen over to the voluntary sector.

After 3 years as Business Development Manager and then Interim CEO of a city based charity, he made the full circle back to West Bridgford and became CEO of The Friary.
He has now led the charity for 4 years and is amazed every day at the work the charity's team of staff and volunteers do to support those who are most in need.
