Wow! NCBC’s legendary Christmas lunch 2023, what an event?!
This year’s lunch, held at our new partner venue The Motorpoint Arena, was our biggest and best NCBC event yet.

Two hundred guests were welcomed at this Christmas extravaganza and what a brilliant time was enjoyed by all. There was magic, fun and games, a delicious three-course dinner from the Arena’s talented chefs and prizes galore.
Our two-time president, Deborah Labbate, who said if she was a stick of rock, she’d have NCBC through her core, kicked off the festive proceedings as the Club heads into its centenary year in 2024. Stood in front of a creative backdrop detailing the Club’s history, Deborah gave us a summary of the years gone by and honoured past president Trevor Harris, who we sadly lost early in 2023, before welcoming our guest speaker Phil Tufnell.
Described as ‘the funniest man in sport’, Phil took part in a Q&A with magician Roy Bond and had the crowd in stitches as he regaled members and guests with stories about eating live grubs on ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here’, being ‘sledged’ on the cricket pitch and touring with the greats, dancing on Strictly and commenting on Test Match Special.
Thanks to everyone who attended and made this such a fantastic event. Together, we raised an impressive £2,699.19 for our new charities of the year – Friary Drop-in, Emmanuel House and Notts County Foundation.

Philip Tufnell is a former England international cricketer turned TV & radio personality, winner of I’m a Celebrity, captain on A Question of Sport and a Test Match Special favourite!
With 42 caps for England under his belt and over 1000 first class wickets along with 12 years as captain on A Question of Sport, being a winner of ‘I’m a Celebrity….Get Me Out of Here’ and a BBC TMS and TV regular Phil has plenty of stories and anecdotes to share with us at this year’s legendary Nottingham City Business Club Christmas lunch.
A popular personality with 250k followers on Instagram and 355k followers on Twitter Phil is regularly referred to as the ‘funniest guy in sport’. Trustworthy and believable – if he likes or uses something then it has to be good!
Described as a ‘loveable rogue’ – from kids to grannies they all love him and we’re sure NCBC Club members and guests will too!

Arrive from 11:30 – sign in, collect your badge and drinks voucher.
Enjoy an hour networking with other members and guests whilst enjoying a drink.
3-course lunch with coffee, entertaining celebrity guest speaker, Christmas games, charity raffle prize draw and a surprise or two!
