January lunch with Stephanie Sirr
Around 90 members and guests attended the recent Nottingham City Business Club lunch at which Stephanie Sirr, chief executive officer of Nottingham Playhouse, was the guest speaker.
Stephanie spoke about how and why they make theatre and about how they ensure they take creative risks whilst still ensuring the Playhouse remains financially stable.
Stephanie has worked in theatre for over 30 years as an actress, stage manager, playwright, comedy club compere, flyman administrator, tour booker and press agent. Since 1992 she has worked primarily in venue programming and management at venues such as The Hackney Empire, Sadler’s Wells, Merlin Frome, Blackpool Grand Theatre and Nottingham Playhouse.
“It was great to have the opportunity to tell people more about the Playhouse’s activities,” said Stephanie. “It was a very friendly audience and some good questions.”

David Browning, managing director of MediCity will be the guest speaker at the next lunch which takes place on Friday 19 February.
