NCBC Charity Golf Day 2020
Nottingham City Business Club (NCBC) adds another ยฃ750 from money raised at the clubโs recent Golf Challenge Day, to the fundraising pot for their chosen charity of the year, Harmless.
The business club have been supporting the Nottingham based charity, Harmless throughout the year, ย which provides a range of services for self-harm and suicide prevention, including support, information, training and consultancy to people who self-harm, their friends and families and professionals and those at risk of suicide.
Twelve teams, representing various Nottingham businesses and organisations, completed the 18-hole championship course at Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club with theย team from Colwick based Gas Container Services, led by Ashley Reeves winning the tournament overall to lift the prestigious cup at the end of the day. Runners up on the day were 2019 champions โ Smellie Savage Computers.
The money was raised through a virtual raffle with tickets sold online giving people the chance to win such prizes as a weekโs stay in a luxury villa, dinners at local restaurants, a photo shoot, tickets to a football match with hospitality, and a yearโs membership to Nottingham City Business Club to name a few! ย All of which were kindly donated by NCBC members and local businesses.
Commenting on the event, Richard Cooper, president of NCBC said: โIt was great to be able to hold an event of this sorts this year and whilst it was managed in a safe and secure way everyone that took part really enjoyed it. It was great to raise money for Harmless in the process, with the latest restrictions we are unlikely to be able to host our usual charity Christmas Lunch this year so it was important to raise as much money as we could at the golf day.โ
โThe sun was shining and everyone has had a great day on a beautiful course. All the support we received for this event has been fantastic and Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club were wonderful hosts. Thanks also to our event sponsors and to all our raffle prize donors.โ Continued the Club President, Richard Cooper.
Jack Fox from Harmless said: โSince the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic our services have seen an increase in demand of almost 200%. All of the monies raised from NCBC will go towards providing services to match against this increased demand and support those in crisis and those who need help. Together we can help to save lives.โ
This yearโs event was sponsored by Turner & Townsend and supported by Foremost Security, LEBC Group, Air-IT, and Nottingham Bid.
Special thanks to Spike for photograhy on the day.
