New President for Nottingham City Business Club
Ian Roberts, a founding director of SLR Consulting, has been elected as the new president of the Nottingham City Business Club (NCBC) at the club’s recent AGM.
SLR Consulting is a global environmental advisory firm with an office in Nottingham where Ian is responsible for the ongoing development and management of the organisation. The company was set up in 1994 and is now one of the world largest environmental consulting firms employing over 1400 professional technical staff across the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, Southern Africa, the USA and Canada where it provides advisory series in the power, oil and gas, built environment, industry, mining & minerals and infrastructure sectors.
In addition, Ian is an Associate Director of Notts County Football Club and for four years he a regional councillor for the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) working both locally and nationally on a range of issues affecting businesses in our area.
Richard Cooper, senior consultant at financial planning firm Jamieson Christie has been re-elected as vice president and James Simmonds, a partner at the Nottingham office of chartered accountants, UHY Hacker Young was re-elected as treasurer.
Ian said: “It is an honour to become president of the club, having enjoyed being a member for a number of years. I hope to focus on marketing the club playing on our heritage and unique offer but very much looking to the future. The club wants to continue providing interesting and relevant speakers and we are looking at a number of initiatives on how we can add additional value to our members.
