18 teams representing various businesses and organisations in Nottingham took part in the event: Actons Solicitors, Air IT, CEMA Limited, Curtins, CYBG, Earl & Pelham Property, Foremost Security, Gas Container Services, GF Tomlinson, Jamieson Christie Wealth Management, John Pye Property, MB Glass Limited, Nottingham Physiotherapy, Pedigree Automotive, Quartz Barristers, Shakespeare Martineau, Smellie Savage Computers and Turner & Townsend.
As a result of a prize draw, the event also raised over £500 for the club’s nominated charity for this year, Switch UP.
The Nottingham City Business Club Golf Day was first competed for in 1929 but stopped in 1982. It was re-introduced in 2011 and since then it has been won by teams from such businesses as UHY Hacker Young, CEMA, Sherwood Place Wealth Management, Towergate Risk Solutions and John Pye Property.
“The event has become increasingly popular with it being sold out in March this year,” said Richard Cooper, president of the Nottingham City Business Club. “Everyone really enjoyed it and it was great to raise money for Switch Up in the process. I’m now looking forward to hosting our next big charity event on the 13 December when Eddie the Eagle Edwards is speaking at our Christmas Lunch.”
Sponsors of the event were Foremost Security, LEBC Group, Air IT, GF Tomlinson, nmcn and Turner & Townsend, with various generous donations of raffle prizes from many other local businesses too.
